Update for January 23, 2009
For the week of January 19th through January 23rd the Contractor finished the riprap embankment at 7+867 to 7+920 (upriver from Island Bar and downriver from Miner’s Bar) and brought the roadway close to subgrade elevations. They worked at mechanically removing rock from the rock bluff just upriver from the Elk Ranch and also did some drilling in the same location late in the week.
For the week of Monday, January 26th through Friday, January 30th there is no work scheduled days or nights. Therefore, the road will be open to public traffic all week without any interruptions.
For those of you planning on visiting the area to camp, hunt, fish, and/or just to enjoy the area, the Salmon River Road may have changed since your last visit, so please be cautious and patient when traveling through the construction area and abide by the signs placed for your safety, and everyone else’s safety also.
