October, November, December Schedule
The October and November road closure/delay schedule will essentially be the same as the current schedule. In December, the mid-day openings may be switched to Tuesday and Thursday rather than Monday and Wednesday. This would align upriver residents’ needs more closely with the Riggins service providers’ availability. If you have any thoughts or comments on this change, please e-mail me at the address listed below.
This Week’s Construction Activities
More shoulder stabilization work occurred this week. The picture below shows a front-end loader laying geotextile material.

Blasting Operation
The following pictures show the sequence of events during a blast. Blasted material is contained by blasting mats. To protect the fish in Salmon River, blasting overpressure is limited to 1.5 #/in2. Blasting overpressure is monitored when the blast is within 100 feet (slope distance) of the river.
