Update for February 8, 2008
One important change to the schedule!! – the road will be open until 8 p.m. on President’s Day (Monday, February 18). The February calendar has been updated to reflect this change. I will post the summer schedule next week.
Debco successfully performed their first blast on Thursday. This is what it looked like before and after the blast.

After drilling is completed and the holes are loaded with explosives, screen is placed. The screen ensures no material (i.e., fly rock) is launched into the air or lost down the slope during the blast. |

Workers remove the screen after the blast. Just behind the workers, you can see where the screen has been removed from the blasted area. |
The retaining wall redesign is progressing. We met at the project site on Tuesday to review design and constructability aspects.
