Update for January 4, 2008

If you traveled through the project lately, you’ve probably noticed a lot of big equipment on the road.  Debco Construction’s mobilization effort is well underway and construction activities will begin soon.  Work on the alternate wall proposal is also progressing.

Details of the revised road closure schedule still have to resolved, but essentially the proposed schedule looks like this:

January through May 16
and
September 8 through December

Debco Construction and FHWA are finalizing the details of the Emergency Response Plan.  The Emergency Response Plan will be in place prior to the above closures taking effect.  It will also be posted on our website.

Debco Construction will operate under the 30-minute delay schedule between January 7 and 11.  Beginning January 14, the closure schedule listed at the top of the page will go into effect assuming the Emergency Response Plan is in place.

It may seem as though things are moving slowly but I assure you that the residents, outfitters, and Debco Construction have worked very hard to develop a schedule that accommodates people’s needs to the extent possible.  There is still work to do, but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.  Thanks for your patience!
